Job Description

Applicants sought for the manufacture, repair and testing of printed circuit boards associated with power semi-conductor gate firing and automation control. Circuit boards are used in Kinetics AC to DC power conversion & control; power rectifiers, DC power supplies and synchronous motor field excitation systems.

Duties:

Assembly of product: Working from electrical schematics, employees are expected to “stuff” and mount electronic components by quality soldering techniques, onto blank circuit boards. After component mounting employees are expected to test and calibrate circuit boards per instructions from our engineering department. Component mounting and soldering must be in neat, consistently organized and completed with an attention to detail to the highest quality technique standards. All employees are expected to take pride in their work and proof their work for errors. Electrical technicians are expected to have and maintain a working knowledge of the national electric code, industry standards for quality standards and Kinetics workmanship / work method standards.

Manufacture of:

• Constant potential diode power supplies in the 1 to 2000 kilowatt range

• SCR regulated rectifiers in the 1 to 2000 kilowatt range

• Magnet power and controllers

• Synchronous motor field excitation systems for brush and brushless motors

• Dry type transformers 1 to 2200 KVA

• KinetSync SR/NB digital annunciation & logic modules for synchronous motors

• Electro-mechanical control and automation

Education: Academic training via trade school or military equal to an associate’s degree in electronic circuitry. Certificate of training for proper electronic soldering techniques.

Common components in circuit board assembly:

• Resistors, capacitors, potentiometers, IC chips, LEDs, optical couplers

• Transistors

• Control transformers

• Keystone screw terminals & test pins

Equipment used: Basic hand tools for circuit board assembly and soldering stations. Electrical test equipment of multimeter, oscilloscope and facility specific test equipment associated with Kinetics product.

Minimum skills required:

• Must be proficient in reading / using a ruler and basic math skills.

• Must be able to read electrical and mechanical prints.

• Trained in basic electrical circuits and electronics.

• Training in use of basic hand tools.

• Trained in knowledge of the NEC or military equivalent.

• Must be reliable, dependable and have attention to workmanship detail.

• Must demonstrate safe work habits and had safety awareness training.

Testing / Inspection: Electrical technicians are expected, with training and oversight by engineering or department management, to test / repair circuit boards for function, reliability and calibration to design standards established by the engineering design team. Following established testing procedure protocols and completing testing reports properly is essential. All employees are required to perform quality inspections on the product they have manufactured and complete a signed QC inspection report.
