Account Executive, Mid-Market Canada • United States

Sales

Full-time

Motion is creating the command center for creative strategists: an AI-driven analytics and intelligence platform that bridges the gap between performance marketers and creative teams, helping them uncover what's working, what's not, and ultimately ship more winning ads across platforms like YouTube, LinkedIn, Meta, and TikTok.

Today, Motion is trusted by some of the world’s top e-commerce and direct-to-consumer brands and agencies (including Vuori, True Classic, The Farmer’s Dog, and HexClad) and has analyzed over $14 billion in media spend. When leading brands want to understand their creative performance, they turn to us.

We're growing fast (3x year-over-year), our product is sticky, and with a recent $30M Series B raise, we're just getting started. We doubled our customers as well as our headcount in 2024, and we now have 70 team members. We're building the future of creative intelligence and are looking for talented people to help us get there! 🚀

About the team & our attitude 🤝

Our Mid-Market Account Executives are dawgs. They collaborate well, are bought into Motion’s mission, and are flexible to what the day-to-day might look like depending on the goal. They lead by example (eg. helping coach SMB Account Executives) and strive to reach their potential as quickly as possible.

About the Account Executive role 🔍

  • You will be directly responsible for driving net new and expansion revenue for our mid-market segment
  • You may be heavily involved in the account management process where you will ensure client happiness and own a churn number
  • We may introduce outbound at some point, so you will be a leader in implementing yourself and across the team
  • Approach clients like future partners to be collaborated with, not leads to be closed. Yes, we want to sell more, however we’ve found that a collaborative sales process ensures long term success and we’ll support you going over and above to ensure your client needs are met
  • Advise prospects on how to implement an effective Performance Creative process using Motion

Our customers are already feeling the pain, and this problem is a top priority for them. Using a consultative selling approach, you will help teams see how the Motion platform is the answer to the workflow challenges they are experiencing.

Be prepared to explore a new approach to sales!

Our ideal fit brings ✨

We’re looking for drivers (not passengers) at this point in our growth.

  • Business Development experience at a performance marketing agency
  • You live in Canada (ideally the Greater Toronto Area) or the United States
  • You approach everyday with the intention of improving at your craft
  • Elite self reflection skills with the ability to identify where to improve + ideas around how to improve
  • Strong performance / presentation skills (a plus if you have public speaking or theatre experience!)
  • No ego: Ego typically blocks the path to improvement - we want to focus a ton on how to improve quickly and not be slowed down by ego
  • Instantly likeable and trustworthy
  • Extremely ambitious and unafraid of the grind
  • Strong critical thinking: You’re sharp and able to develop opinions on the role, team, and organization

What you'll love about Motion 💜

  • Training and development: We have comprehensive onboarding to prepare you to be an expert in our industry and will build an individualized learning plan once you’re fully ramped
  • Authority and expertise: You’re going to learn to become an expert in marketing
  • A culture of collaboration and willingness to share (we value chatting through opinions vs. top down decisions)
  • Autonomy to make decisions and impact output
  • Transparency across the organization into decision making processes + your voice will be heard if you have any feedback
  • We’ve found product market fit which makes everything a bit easier
  • Fully remote team with incredible offsites and retreats to build camaraderie. Our last retreat was a week-long stay at Lake Muskoka.
  • All the standard startup benefits: Great vacation policies (20 days + holidays + 5 sick days), healthcare (100% paid for employees), modern tech (we love our AI tools), home office budget ($1500), health & wellness stipend ($100/month), etc.
  • Our customers are some of the leading brands and agencies in D2C e-commerce

Motion thrived in 2023, and 2024 was a defining year here. We started 2025 with fresh funding and exceptional signals from our clients. On top of this, our founding team has built successful companies before. This role offers an incredible opportunity to get in on the ground floor to help us build a category defining company in the “creative-tech” space.
