Full job description

Special Education Teacher (K–12)

Start Date: September 7, 2026

Duration: 36 Weeks

Schedule: 37.5 hours/week

Openings: 3

Interview Requirement: Yes (interviews beginning first week of August)

Position Overview

We are seeking dedicated and collaborative Special Education Teachers to provide high-quality instruction and support to students from kindergarten through grade 12. This role focuses on delivering individualized educational programs, working closely with general education staff, and supporting student success through specialized instruction and intervention.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver tailored instruction to meet the needs of special education students

  • Participate in the planning and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)

  • Provide tutorial assistance and targeted academic support

  • Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and support staff

  • Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed

  • Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and district regulations

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (preferred)

  • Valid state teaching certification (required per state/district regulations)

  • Minimum of 1 year of teaching experience (preferred)

  • One or more of the following certifications preferred:

  • Standard Elementary Teaching

  • Standard Secondary Teaching

  • Standard Special Education Teaching

  • Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred

  • Current CPR certification (if applicable)

  • TB screening (PPD, questionnaire, or chest X-ray if required)

  • Current health certificate (per state or contract requirements)

  • Must meet all federal, state, and local employment requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old

Compensation

  • Pay Rate (Local): $50/hour
