Milieu Coordinator

Pay: $25.00-26.50/hour

 

As a Milieu Coordinator at YOU, Inc., you will play a key role in improving the mental health functioning of youth in our residential programs. This role requires you to support the successful operation of a therapeutic milieu, prioritizing safety, efficiency, and trauma-informed care. You will lead a dynamic team, provide staff supervision, and coordinate daily activities to support youth in a client-centered environment. Flexibility is essential, with responsibilities that include evening, weekend shifts, and an on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee shift scheduling and staffing ratios to ensure smooth program operations.

  • Implement client-centered, skill-building activities in collaboration with the team.

  • Supervise and provide guidance to Direct Care Staff/Residential Counselors, ensuring quality supervision and adherence to policies.

  • Collaborate with Program Directors and other Milieu Coordinators to fulfill staffing needs across programs.

  • Provide on-call support and assist with staffing and programmatic concerns.

  • Monitor safety risks in the milieu and take corrective actions as needed.

  • Model best practices in client-centered care, trauma-informed approaches, and cultural competence.

  • Support program hiring, training, coaching, and performance management processes.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • Experience: 3-5 years of related experience in mental health or residential settings.

  • Licenses/Certifications: CANS certified; standard driver’s license (Class C or D).

  • Skills: Ability to manage crisis situations, provide life skills training, and ensure safety protocols.

  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (or 200 pounds with assistance), perform physical restraint if necessary, and work in a physically demanding environment.
