Full job description
Description Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join their growing finance team. This role is ideal for an accounting detail oriented who enjoys working closely with business leaders, analyzing financial performance, and contributing to strategic decision-making. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in the month-end close process, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and partnering with operations to improve business performance. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting. Prepare and analyze financial statements, including revenue, job costs, gross margins, and operating expenses. Perform account reconciliations and maintain the accuracy of the general ledger. Analyze financial results, identify trends and variances, and provide meaningful recommendations to management. Partner with operational leaders and project managers to evaluate project performance, profitability, and financial risks. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and monthly financial reporting. Monitor operating expenses and support initiatives to improve profitability and overall financial performance. Ensure compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and company procedures. Support internal and external audits by preparing required schedules and documentation. Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiencies. Collaborate with corporate finance and accounting teams on reporting, system improvements, and special projects. Requirements Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 5+ years of progressive accounting experience. Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, account reconciliations, budgeting, and forecasting. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to analyze and interpret financial data. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities. Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple departments. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Construction, manufacturing, or project-based accounting experience is highly preferred.
