Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer - 2nd Shift

Location: Cleveland, OH

Business Unit: Team Wendy

Purpose of Position:

At Team Wendy, we are dedicated to advancing safety and performance in the protective gear industry. As a Manufacturing Engineer, your role is pivotal in driving our mission forward by ensuring the seamless installation and optimization of our production equipment.

The ideal candidate for this position is someone who thrives on the challenge of installing and running off equipment, transforming theoretical designs into practical, high-quality manufacturing processes. You should possess a deep understanding of manufacturing systems, coupled with a hands-on approach to troubleshooting and refining equipment performance. Your expertise will help streamline operations, enhance product quality, and uphold Team Wendy's commitment to excellence and innovation. Your proactive problem-solving skills and passion for improving manufacturing processes will directly contribute to our goal of delivering superior protective gear to our customers.

Essential Duties and/or Functions:

  • Lead the implementation into manufacturing of all new, changed, or improved products (via Process Sign-Off) including documentation and final reports

  • Develop and document process routings and labor standards

  • Develop, evaluate, improve, and document manufacturing processes

  • Work closely with quality and manufacturing personnel to implement measurement and process control techniques and procedures to determine process capability and throughput

  • Analyze manufacturing process flows continually for the enhancements of quality, cost reduction, and throughput

  • Collaborate within cross-functional product/process planning team

  • Design and develop tooling and processes to ensure effective and efficient production methods

  • Develop sources for and collaborate with vendors to develop specifications for tooling, equipment, parts, or materials, and evaluating products according to quality standards and specifications

  • Assist operations on estimating staffing requirements, production times, and relative costs to provide data for operational decisions

  • Work closely with manufacturing department to develop, coordinate, and implement technical and process training for employees

  • Design and develop a structured process for improvement and coordinate product/process changes (ECR / PCR process)

  • Design, develop and implement fixtures and tooling that are consistent with low defect levels and low product cost

  • Create and maintain accurate documentation of tool drawings and equipment design concepts, in accordance with R&D and quality assurance functions.

  • Provide engineering support to production department to trouble shoot and resolve technical problems

Required Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical / industrial engineering

  • Experience with tooling, machining, and fabricating processes

  • Experience using CAD software such as Creo, Pro-E or other design software

  • Knowledge of measurement techniques including inspection and laboratory testing

  • Ability to read technical drawings / blueprints

  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects

  • Excellent written and verbal communication

Preferred/Desired Skills and/or Experiences:

  • Prior experience with industrial paint application

  • Prior experience with CNC programming (HAAS, Mazak)

  • Prior experience with robotics (FANUC, UR, Doosan)

  • Enthusiastic, cooperative, and positive attitude

  • Proven problem-solving skills

  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Experience with a statistical software package such as SQC Pack or Mini Tab

The anticipated salary range for candidates who will work in Cleveland, OH is $80,000 to $95,000 annually. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, type and years of experience within the industry, education, etc.
