As part of a shared services data analytics team, the Total Rewards Data Services Lead Analyst partners with Total Rewards stakeholders to conduct analyses that inform employee benefits and wellbeing strategy, including measurement of physical, emotional, and financial wellbeing initiatives.

Job Description

Supports a culture of data driven decision-making by understanding business needs and translating them into technical requirements and analytical solutions that support evaluation of employee wellbeing outcomes and cost effectiveness. Responsible for working cross-functionally to collect data and develop models to identify trends and evaluate programs using a variety of data sources, including medical and pharmacy claims, program utilization, and publicly available data.

Acts as a technical expert in own area within the organization. May work independently or as part of a team on more complex projects. Provides mentoring and guidance to more junior team members and may lead project workstreams.

Responsibilities:

  • Translates business questions into clear analytical approaches and technical requirements for internal teams and analytics partners, and documents methodology specifications to support technical execution and reproducibility of analyses.

  • Validates the relevance and quality of data and methods, identifying alternative sources as needed.

  • Analyzes large, complex datasets to evaluate ROI and identify key drivers and actionable insights, including healthcare cost, utilization, clinical outcomes, and program engagement trends.

  • Ensures data quality, integrity, and appropriate interpretation of results, recognizing the importance of data security and compliance in all aspects of analysis.

  • Queries and combines data from disparate platforms (e.g., Teradata, SQL Server, Hadoop, AWS) to support analysis.

  • Develops forecasting and modeling approaches to evaluate trends and predict key business and cost-related metrics.

  • Applies advanced analytics approaches, including emerging AI-driven techniques where appropriate, to improve insight generation and decision support.

  • Evaluates the value of programs, campaigns, and vendor solutions, including assessment of outcomes, cost impact, and areas of leakage or opportunity within program design.

  • Designs and delivers dashboards, reports, and presentations, distilling complex analyses into concise executive summaries for organizational leadership.

  • Manages multiple concurrent projects and analytical deliverables, prioritizing work effectively and ensuring high-quality, timely outputs.

  • Promotes a culture of data-driven decision-making, intellectual curiosity, and analytical rigor.

  • Stays current with emerging trends in analytics, statistics, and machine learning and applies them to business challenges.

  • Exercises independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.

  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary.
