Job Description
This is a high-trust, high-autonomy position. You will be the face of the shop to customers and the backbone of operations for our crew. The right person thrives in a fast-paced environment, communicates clearly with both technicians and customers, and takes pride in running a tight, efficient shop.
What You'll Do

Run daily operations — open and close the shop, set the pace, and keep things moving

Schedule and dispatch work — assign jobs to techs based on skill, workload, and priority

Handle service writing — greet customers, write repair orders, communicate estimates, and follow up on approvals

Manage parts and inventory — order parts, manage vendor relationships, and keep the shop stocked efficiently

Hire and develop staff — recruit, onboard, and evaluate technicians and support staff as needed

Approve estimates — review and authorize repair scopes, ensuring accuracy and profitability

Enforce quality control — perform final checks, ensure work meets standards before vehicle delivery

Serve as the owner's eyes on the floor — flag issues, report on shop performance, and help identify ways to improve efficiency and customer satisfaction

Skills and Requirements

Proven experience in auto shop management (2+ years preferred)

Background in service writing — you know how to talk to customers and translate tech into plain English

Clean driving record

Strong organizational and communication skills

Ability to manage people fairly and effectively • ASE certification or familiarity with ASE-certified technicians

Experience with shop management software (Pace/YES, AllData, IDentifix, etc.)
