Job Title: Night Shift Maintenance Technician (2 needs!)

Location: Gray Court, SC

Duration: Full time/Direct Hire

Compensation: $28.00 - 38.00/hr + shift differential

Shift: 7pm - 7am on a 2/2/3 schedule, working every other weekend.

Industry: nonwovens manufacturing (climate controlled!)

Position Summary:

The maintenance technician position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment whether it be electrical or mechanical according to safety, predictive and preventative maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the business goals and objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Must follow company safety policies and procedures

  • Adhere to the company’s Quality Policy to ensure our products and services meet customer’s expectations

  • Operate production equipment within the specified limits

  • Monitor raw materials, product and equipment for defects or deviations.

  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections of equipment to ensure safe, high quality, productive operation.

  • Support a constructive team culture.

  • Maintain production records and monitor product quality against established control charts

  • Perform site-safety audits routinely as scheduled

  • Keep area clean throughout the shift.

  • Responsible to fill in for Lead Operator when not on site.

  • Assist Lead Operator with machine operations and set up.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

  • Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility's equipment.

  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.

  • Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities.

  • Perform maintenance skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, plumbing troubleshooting and repair of production machines.

  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.

  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.

  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.

  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.

  • Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.

  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.

Education and Skill:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Work Keys, not required but a plus

  • Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing setting or equivalent experience

  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and machinery operation.

  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and safety guidelines.

  • Physical capability to stand for extended periods and perform manual tasks.

  • Strong attention to detail and reliability.

  • Mechanical troubleshooting skills preferred

  • Basic Computer skills desired (Keyboarding, Microsoft Office)

  • Basic understanding of SAP or other ERP systems

  • Basic understanding of the metric system

  • Must be able to work in a rapid work environment

  • Forklift experience

  • Must have a valid drivers license

  • This position requires frequent lifting and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lifts and/or move up to 25 pounds.
