POSITION SUMMARY :

Oversee warehouse operations. Perform a variety of duties in support of the manufacturing

facilities including the receipt, storage, issuance and inventory of materials, supplies and equipment. Work to efficiently utilize the warehouse space in order to accomplish the company-s goals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Coordinate distribution procedures to maximize delivery efficiency and flow of products from facility to facility

  • Verify incoming shipments for appropriate quantity and quality according to the receiving procedure

  • Rotate and stock products by moving pallets/drums/bags of material from storage locations to use locations using forklifts, pallet jacks, or by manual stacking according to the warehouse procedure and HACCP plan

  • Understand and comply with the production facility Good Manufacturing Practices and safety regulations

  • Maintain the Central Warehouse in a clean and orderly manner by completing standard warehouse housekeeping and sanitation duties

  • Actively and effectively participate in team activities (including meetings, planning sessions, etc.)

  • Sampling raw material according to the sampling procedure

  • Understand and use transportation concepts, practices and procedures

  • Effectively complete the daily transportation needs as indicated by the department schedule and/or manager

  • Load and unload truck as required

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, preferred and a minimum of 24 months experience in a manufacturing/warehouse environment or in a related field

  • Must have experience with and knowledge of modern warehousing and inventory procedures

  • Understand the principles and procedures of record keeping and safe work practices

  • Have ability to organize stock and issue materials, maintain accurate records, communicate clearly and concisely

  • Must be forklift certified and have a current Class D Driver-s License with a clean driving record for insurability

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • May require walking/standing, sitting for periodic periods throughout the day in a warehouse with no HVAC; reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist or lifting as required to handle materials during the workday

  • Manufacturing/warehouse environment with exposure to wet and dry raw materials and finished product powder and liquid, bulk materials and cleaning chemicals

  • Some climbing, stooping and lifting; frequent moving of up to 125 pounds required; move pallets weighting approximately 2,000 pounds with the use of a pallet jack
