Full job description
Our client, in consumer packaged cleaning goods industry is seeking an R&D Associate to join their team. The ideal candidate will have product development, CPG, project management and team playing skills which will align successfully in the organization.
Job Title: R&D Associate
Location: Montvale, NJ (Hybrid: 4 days onsite per week)
Contract: 6 Months (extension possible)
Pay Range: $35 - $50 hourly
What’s the Job?

Lead end-to-end development of non-woven and wet wipes products, from concept through commercialization, including substrate and formulation innovation.

Drive cross-functional projects by partnering with R&D, Marketing, Operations, Quality, Regulatory, and Supply Chain teams to deliver successful product launches.

Manage multiple development programs, ensuring timelines, technical milestones, and business objectives are achieved.

Apply knowledge of disinfecting and surface-care technologies, including regulatory considerations (EPA/BPD), product performance validation, and consumer needs.

Provide technical leadership through strong problem-solving, communication, and project management skills, with experience developing cleaning and surface-care products in a fast-paced environment.
What’s Needed?

BS/BA degree in a related science and 3-5 years’ experience, or MS degree in a related science and minimum 3 years’ experience.

Experience and/or proven track record of successful delivery of technical projects in a FMCG company.

Strong understanding of the product development process from concept ideation to launch.

Proven Project Management skills including timeline management and coordination of key stake holders.

Strong formulation knowledge and understanding of chemical interactions. Wet wipes formulation experience – desired not required.
