Full job description

Description We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to join our team in California. This position is ideal for an accounting specialist who brings strong technical expertise, sound judgment, and a client-focused approach to tax, accounting, and advisory work. The role offers the opportunity to oversee complex engagements, support client decision-making, and help guide developing team members while contributing to a high standard of service.

Responsibilities:

  • Advise business clients on tax strategies that support operational goals and long-term financial planning.

  • Prepare and review a broad range of tax filings, including returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, estates, gifts, and trusts.

  • Handle consolidated tax return work with accuracy and a strong understanding of applicable reporting requirements.

  • Direct multiple client engagements at once, ensuring deadlines, quality standards, and team performance are consistently met.

  • Lead accounting, consulting, review, and audit-related assignments from planning through completion.

  • Strengthen client relationships by identifying needs, communicating clearly, and delivering responsive, high-quality service.

  • Provide guidance and day-to-day support to Staff Accountants through coaching, training, and example-driven leadership.

  • Oversee billing and budget activities, including resolving challenging collection, invoicing, or cost management matters.

  • Contribute to firm growth by participating in industry networking and business development efforts. Requirements • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting is required.

  • 3–5 years of experience in public accounting is required.

  • CPA license is required.

  • Strong knowledge of accounting practices and income tax regulations across multiple entity types.

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze issues critically and develop practical solutions.

  • Proficiency with general accounting systems and software used in accounting practice.

  • Experience with ProSystems, Advanced Flow, and QuickBooks is preferred.

  • Familiarity with Yardi Breeze is a plus.
