GPEC Custodial Aide
Hours and Rate:
- 2 hours per day at a rate of $17.50/hour
Position Function: Weight Room Custodian
Under the direct supervision of the Principal, Director of Facilities, and Business Manager, the GPEC Custodian ensures the cleanliness, safety, and functionality of the school's weight room and fitness equipment. Supports a hygienic workout environment and assists with general custodial tasks in the GPEC.
Essential Functions:

Cleans and disinfects weight room equipment, floors, and surfaces daily.

Inspects equipment for damage or safety concerns and reports issues.

Stocks and replenishes cleaning supplies, wipes, paper towels, and sanitizers.
Additional Duties:
-
Assists with deep cleaning and maintenance during school breaks.

Supports athletic or fitness-related school events with setup and cleanup.

Completes other custodial tasks assigned by supervisors.
Equipment Used:
-
Mops, brooms, vacuums, and floor scrubbers for gym-specific flooring.

Disinfecting tools such as sprayers, microfiber cloths, and wipes.

Basic hand tools for minor maintenance and setup.
Safety Requirements:
-
Follows all safety procedures when cleaning or handling equipment.

Wears appropriate PPE, including gloves and non-slip shoes.

Complies with chemical hygiene policies and uses MSDS guidelines.
Travel Requirements:

May assist in other school areas when requested.

May transport supplies or equipment to and from the GPEC.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Familiarity with proper cleaning techniques for fitness equipment.

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions independently.

Physically able to move/lift gym equipment and work in active environments.
Physical and Environmental Demands:

Regular exposure to cleaning chemicals, sweat, and gym-related debris.

Ability to perform physical cleaning tasks.

Work may be performed both inside and outdoors.
