Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic

Job Description

This role focuses on performing routine and preventive maintenance on a wide range of industrial machines and equipment. You apply your mechanical, welding, and troubleshooting skills to keep production equipment operating safely and efficiently across multiple shifts. You work with power transmission systems, conveyors, belting, pneumatics, hydraulics, lubrication systems, and rotating equipment, using both hand and power tools as well as welding and cutting equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance on a wide variety of industrial machines and equipment.

  • Lubricate machinery and equipment according to established lubrication practices and schedules.

  • Diagnose mechanical issues by inspecting equipment, identifying faults, and determining appropriate repair methods.

  • Repair and replace defective parts, components, and assemblies on production and support equipment.

  • Use welding skills to fabricate, repair, or alter equipment components as needed.

  • Operate power and hand tools, including wrenches, grinders, drills, and other shop tools, to complete maintenance tasks safely and efficiently.

  • Use oxyacetylene torches and plasma cutters to cut, remove, or modify metal components as part of repair or fabrication work.

Essential Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Welding certificate equivalent to approximately 1 year of training or equivalent welding experience.

  • At least 1 year of documented industrial maintenance experience or equivalent practical experience.

  • Practical knowledge of power transmission systems, including chains, gears, and related components.

Work Environment

This role operates in an industrial facility with multiple shift options.

  • The 2nd shift runs from 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., Wednesday through Sunday, with Monday and Tuesday off and a $0.50 per hour shift differential.

  • The 3rd shift runs from 10:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m., Friday through Tuesday, with Wednesday and Thursday off and a $0.55 per hour shift differential.

  • The swing shift schedule includes Monday and Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., Wednesday and Thursday from 10:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m., and Sunday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with Friday and Saturday off.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $67620.08 - $68764.80/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
