Full job description

JACOBS has an immediate opportunity for an On-Site CSA Engineer at our project near Baton Rouge, LA.

The CSA On-Site Engineer serves as the Professional's on-site representative for civil, structural, and architectural disciplines throughout the construction phase of the project. This individual will facilitate communication between the Owner, Contractor, and design teams while supporting construction activities, reviewing field conditions, resolving design issues, and ensuring the Work aligns with the Contract Documents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for CSA-related design and construction matters.

  • Perform daily site walks to monitor progress, quality, compliance, and constructability.

  • Coordinate civil, structural, and architectural design issues between field teams and design consultants.

  • Evaluate field conditions and facilitate timely design clarifications and revisions.

  • Support responses to RFIs, submittals, substitution requests, and field inquiries.

  • Review installation activities for conformance with design intent and project specifications.

  • Identify and communicate observed deficiencies, deviations, and quality concerns.

  • Participate in punch walks, inspections, testing activities, and project turnover efforts.

  • Provide weekly site observation reports documenting progress, risks, issues, and recommendations.

  • Support BIM coordination efforts, mockups, and site validation activities.

  • Coordinate with QA/QC, commissioning, and Owner representatives to resolve construction issues.

  • Proactively identify project risks and support mitigation planning.

  • Establish clear communication and escalation processes among project stakeholders.

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field.

  • 10+ years of experience in large-scale commercial, industrial, mission-critical, or data center construction projects; or 5+ years supporting hyperscale data centers.

  • Strong understanding of CSA systems, construction methods, and industry standards.

  • Experience reviewing drawings, specifications, and construction documentation.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Ability to work independently in an active construction environment.
