AFO is looking for a Fire Protection Engineer III to work in Piketon, OH. To join our team of outstanding professionals, apply today!

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for various elements of support and provides fire protection engineering support as needed to implement the site wide fire protection program. The specific work assignment may include duties or activities that assist and support management in one of or more of the following functional areas, in addition to other duties as assigned:

  • Analyzes buildings, transportation systems, and materials for potential fire hazards and design fire prevention and suppression systems.

  • Research causes of fires, determine fire protection methods, and design or recommend materials or equipment such as structural components or fire-detection equipment to assist organizations in safeguarding life and property against fire, explosion, and related hazard. Performs work under minimal supervision.

  • Handles complex issues and problems, refers only the most complex issues to higher-level staff. Possesses comprehensive knowledge of subject matter.

  • May act as a lead.

  • Typically requires BA and 5-7 years.

Qualifications

  • BS degree in Engineering and up to 3 years’ experience in fire protection work or equivalent

  • education/experience such as work with piping/mechanical systems, building construction, or

  • control/alarm systems. Typical experience ranges from 0 to 3 years.

  • Must be able to obtain a DOE “L” clearance.
