Job Requirements (Principal Responsibilities)

Leadsand facilitatesthe development and implementation of training and other programs and activities necessary to ensuresitewideSH&E compliance.

Monitorsproposed and existing SH&E regulations and legislation to determine their impact on operations. Developsand implementsprograms to ensure continued compliance.

Participatesin the development and implementation of Long Range Plans (LRPs), Continuous Improvement Plans (CIPs), global standards, budget and other corporate efforts.

Establishessite SH&E goals and objectives consistent with global and regional goals.

Leadsand facilitatesthe development and implementation ofsiteSH&E improvement plans to enhance compliance and improve SH&E performance and monitor and reportsprogress toward achieving site goals and objectives using established SH&E metrics.

Managesasystem for identifying, investigating, recording, and reporting undesired SH&E events.Ensurescorrective actions are taken to fulfill regulatory compliance.

Providesregular communication to all levels of management regarding SH&E issues and performance to ensure that relevant issues are quickly and appropriately addressed.

Supervises, develops and evaluatesemployees inSH&E. Managesactivities and provides leadership to professional, technical and support employees.

Supports efforts to implement and maintain the Responsible Care Management System in line with the requirements of the RC14001 technical specification, as applicable to the site/region.

Competencies (Knowledge, Skills and Behaviors)

Strong knowledge of environmental and safety sciences and practices.

Strong knowledge of national and local regulations

Leadership and management skills; ability to motivate and oversee work of a professional staff.

Education/Experience

Bachelor/University degree in Environmental or Safety engineering or related fields and 7+ years of related experience, including prior leadership/ supervisory experience.
