Full job description
About the RoleWe're hiring Category Marketing Managers, each owning marketing for a root category within Beauty on Purplle.com — Skin, Hair, Makeup, Fragrance, Personal Care, or an emerging category. This is a sell-side, demand-generation role: your job is to grow your category's traffic, conversion, and share of voice on the platformThe core of the role is content and marketing that actually moves people to shop the category — performance marketing, video and static creative, and influencer content that translates into real on-app outcomes: category traffic, conversion, and NMV. You own the full lever stack for your category's growth on the platform.Key Responsibilities•Own end-to-end category marketing for your assigned root category — traffic, conversion, and NMV growth on Purplle.com.•Plan and run performance marketing for the category across Google, Meta, and other paid channels — driving qualified traffic at efficient CAC.•Build and brief category-specific content — videos, statics, and campaign creative — with a sharp sense of what actually gets a category's audience to stop, watch, and buy.•Build and manage an influencer/creator ecosystem relevant to the category to drive organic traffic and category credibility.•Own on-app category experience and merchandising for your category — banners, category pages, launch placements, and visibility in collaboration with the app/product team.•Plan and execute category-level campaigns and launches, aligned to key sale events and cultural/category moments.•Track category-level marketing metrics (traffic, conversion, content-attributed NMV, share of voice) and iterate quickly based on what's working.•Stay closely tuned to trends, competitor moves, and cultural moments within your category to keep campaigns and content relevant. What We're Looking For•4-8 years of experience in category marketing, growth marketing, or performance marketing — ideally with e-commerce or marketplace experience or Brand marketing in D2C companies.•A demonstrated understanding of content nuance — you should be able to point to content or campaigns you've built and explain why they worked, not just that they did.•Hands-on experience running performance marketing campaigns (Google, Meta) and briefing/producing video and static creative — not just approving what an agency sends over.•Experience working with or managing influencer/creator relationships is a strong plus.•Comfort working closely with data (traffic, conversion, CAC, content-attributed GMV) to make fast, iterative marketing decisions.•Genuine interest in and knowledge of the Beauty & Personal Care category (Skin / Hair / Makeup / Fragrance specifically, depending on the role).•For emerging category roles: comfort with ambiguity and building a category's marketing playbook from scratch, since there's no existing template to follow.
