Old Harbor Solutions, LLC a Federal Contracting Leader is looking for Crime Gun Intelligence Specialist to join our team in Wichita, KS.

Position Overview:

The CGI Specialist assist in identifying armed violent criminals and members of violent gangs and criminal organizations who are involved in shootings, violent criminal activity, or firearms trafficking which require investigation. Specialists are needed to support NIBIN sites with the timely entry of ballistic evidence into NIBIN and, on the back end, assist in pooling intelligence across NIBIN results and other sources to quickly prepare leads for investigators. Specialist are required to perform a series of duties that include analyzing, drafting reports, and sharing information to assist colleagues in development of crime gun intelligence; correctly identifying and tracing firearms through the ATF e-Trace system; utilizing NESS for daily entry of local Record Management System (RMS) event information associated with ballistic evidence entered into NIBIN; reviewing results; and reporting on success stories.

Position Duties:

Along with all qualifications of the CGI Specialist Level I and II, the CGIS Specialist shall have the experience and ability to provide analytics and research on gun intelligence specific to firearm related violent crime. Please note, a PhD is desired. Candidates shall have experience and ability to perform the following:

  • Assistindatacollection.

  • Provide support through research projects (short-term and long-term) for ATF’s CGI Center of Excellence

  • Provide support to the Crime Gun Intelligence Governing Board such as, Academic Research Subcommittee

  • Coordinatecollectionofcrimegunintelligencefromsurroundingagencies.

  • Coordinateandconductpresentationsandtrainingtoagencyofficials.

  • Provide support by creating and presenting research training for the National Crime Gun Intelligence Center of Excellence, such as Chiefs of Police Academy and other forums.

  • Utilize crime gun intelligence to identify national and regional trends and patterns; merge NIBIN hits, tracingresults,multiplesales,NICSandlocal intelligencetoidentifyhighvaluetargets.

  • Distributecrimegunintelligencetotheproperauthorities.

  • Coordinatetheresultsfromcrimegunintelligencewith:

  • ATFFieldDivisions-FieldIntelligenceGroups.

  • Locallawenforcementintelligence.

  • Designatedauthorities.

  • Assist in presentations that are hosted or coordinated through the National Crime Gun Intelligence Center of Excellence

  • Provideliaisonsupportoutsidetheofficeasrequired.

  • UnderstandNIBIN MROSComplianceandAudits and use information to formulate stats / best practices.

  • Utilize NESS data-driven research concepts for internal and external academic research opportunities.

Experience:

Itispreferredthatcandidateshaveaminimumoffive(5)yearsinvestigativeexperiencewith local, State, or Federal law enforcement.They must possess the ability to work with and coordinate the efforts of local, State, and Federal law enforcement;to plan and complete complex projects and present those plans and projects to a group; and to identify and overcome obstacles to those plans.

Education:
