Engineering Production Technician

Portland, OR | Contract-to-Hire | $28–$30 per hour

Location

This position will initially be based near Tigard/Washington Square and will transition to Southeast Portland in November.

Overview

Kelly Engineering is hiring an Engineering Production Technician for a growing medical device manufacturer. This hands-on role will support the assembly, soldering, inspection, and testing of small electronic components used in continuous glucose monitoring devices.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble small, precision medical device and electronic components.

  • Perform soldering and rework using microscopes and precision tools.

  • Inspect components under magnification for defects, contamination, and alignment.

  • Read and follow technical drawings, SOPs, and assembly instructions.

  • Operate automated and semi-automated assembly equipment.

  • Conduct functional testing using calibrated equipment.

  • Complete batch records, travelers, and inspection documentation.

  • Follow GMP, ESD, cleanroom, FDA, and ISO 13485 requirements.

  • Assist with basic troubleshooting and report nonconforming products.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of experience in medical device assembly, electronics manufacturing, or another precision production environment.

  • Hands-on soldering and microscope experience required.

  • Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail.

  • Ability to read technical drawings and follow detailed work instructions.

  • Familiarity with GMP or regulated manufacturing requirements.

  • Medical device, cleanroom, or ISO 13485 experience preferred.

  • IPC J-STD-001 or IPC-A-610 knowledge is a plus.

  • Ability to work at both Portland-area locations.
