Job Summary

The Tool Room Machinist carries through to completion without supervision, the construction, repair, maintenance, and calibration of machine-shop tools, jigs, fixtures, instruments, and metal-forming dies.

Essential Functions

  • Analyzes specifications, lays out metal stock sets up and operates machine tools, and fits and assembles parts to fabricate and repair metalworking dies, cutting tools, jigs and fixtures, gauges and machinists' hand tools, applying knowledge of tool and die design and construction, shop mathematics, metal properties, and layout, machining, and assembly procedures.

  • Studies specifications, such as blueprints, sketches, models, or descriptions, and visualizes product to determine materials required and machines to be used to fabricate parts.

  • Computes dimensions, plans layout, and determines assembly method and sequence of operations.

  • Sets up, programs, and operates CNC and manual machine tools, such as lathes, mills, shaper, and grinder to machine parts and verifies conformance of machined parts to specifications.

Required

Hours: 2nd Shift, 3:00 pm - 1:30 am, Monday -Thursday

$2,000 Sign on Bonus available

20% 2nd Shift Differential

Compensation

The anticipated hourly starting pay range for this position is $30.00 to $40.00. The exact rate may be based on a combination of factors including knowledge, experience, skills, abilities, and education.

Employees at our die casting facility can gain experience in multiple areas of manufacturing including aluminum and zinc die casting, CNC machining, automation, and quality control. We have over 100,000 square feet of manufacturing space with the capacity and capability to service a diverse set of customers and industries. Kurt Die Casting features 20 CNC machining centers and 15 die casting machines ranging in size from 500 to 1,200 tons.
