Founded in 1938, Wilcox Medical Center is a not-for-profit medical center dedicated to providing the Kaua‘i community with accessible quality health care. The largest medical center on Kaua‘i, it is a state-of-the-art acute care facility with a full suite of services offering 30 specialties and programs, including cardiology, emergency, family practice, gastroenterology, health management, internal medicine, neurology, OB-GYN, oncology, orthopedics, pediatrics and urology. Its 18-bed emergency department serves as the island’s Primary Stroke Center. The medical center also has four birthing suites, seven intensive care beds and 20 same-day surgery beds. Wilcox is the first American College of Surgeons-verified Level III Trauma Center in the state of Hawai‘i. The Mother Baby Care Unit at Wilcox offers specialized care for postpartum teen to adult women and normal newborns, as well as to post-GYN surgical women. Our highly trained and caring staff provides education to the entire family during and after the pregnancy, as well as IV therapy, fetal monitoring, diabetes education, monitoring of patients requiring bed rest for premature delivery, post-surgical C-section, regular deliveries and postpartum complications and a variety of other services. The Mother Baby Care Unit provides support to mothers and their newborns in an atmosphere that promotes bonding of the family unit.
As a Registered Nursery/Postpartum Nurse, you will have the opportunity to provide direct patient care and support to physician staff within our Mother Baby Care Unit. We are looking for someone with strong patient care and communication skills, willingness to work in a team-oriented atmosphere and a commitment to our vision of delivering the highest quality health care to Hawai‘i’s people.

Pay Range: 49.62 - 70.89 USD per hour

Minimum Qualifications: Current Hawai‘i Registered Nurse License. Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) CPR cards. Experience with nursing management of normal and high risk laboring patients.
Preferred Qualifications: Completion of Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 3 months. Completion of S.T.A.B.L.E. (pre-transportation stabilization course for neonate) course recommended within 6 months. Minimum one (1) year recent acute care Registered Nurse experience in Labor & Delivery, including normal and high-risk obstetrical care. Minimum one (1) year experience in Nursery, including normal and high-risk neonatal care preferred. SCN/NICU experience preferred. Experience with care of postpartum patient and med/surg gynecologic patients preferred. Experience with care of general med/surg patients preferred. Experience with operating room circulating nurse duties preferred. Experience with immediate post-surgical recovery care preferred.
