Full job description

Job Description:

  • Work Arrangement: This position follows a hybrid work model, requiring two days per week onsite at the Charlotte Hub, located at 4444 The Plaza, Unit 18, Charlotte, NC 28215, and three remote workdays, based on business needs. The role primarily supports members within the local market while also providing cross-geography coverage across North Carolina as needed.
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
  • Required Licensure: Active, unrestricted LCSW license in good standing

The Behavioral Health Specialist (BHS) is part of a dedicated behavioral health care team, and will be available for care team referrals to triage member needs, provide short-term therapeutic interventions, address the needs of members presenting with serious mental illness (SMI) or substance use disorder (SUD), manage behavioral health escalations and help facilitate transitions of care as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide behavioral health support to members in an in-person and virtual setting.

  • Develop member care plans for members when behavioral health interventions are needed.

  • Provide clinical education to members on preventative care topics, including behavioral health and mental illness.

  • Make appropriate referrals for medical support, social resources, behavioral health and Substance Use Disorder (SUD) to external and internal providers or internal care team.

  • Collaborate with internal care teams to assess and determine need for member escalation or placement in different programs (e.g., lower or higher intensity program).

  • Maintain engagement with high-acuity members.

Work Experience:

  • 1-year post Master’s Degree

This role is eligible for health insurance, life insurance, retirement benefits, participation in the company’s equity program, paid time off, including vacation and sick leave. The actual offer will be at the company’s sole discretion and determined by relevant business considerations, including the final candidate’s qualifications, years of experience, skillset, and geographic location. The expected salary range for this position is:

80,000 - 90,000
