Amergis Educational Staffing is in need of a Special Education Teacher – School-Based (K–12) for the 26/27 school year

Location: Fall River, MA area

Start Date: August 24, 2026

Weekly Hours: 32.5-35 hours per week

Contract Length: 26/27 school year

Position Overview

We are actively hiring Special Education Teachers for placements serving students across all grade levels (K–12) . These roles support a range of specialized programs designed to meet diverse learning, behavioral, and developmental needs.

Employment Details

Program Placements

Teachers will be placed based on experience and student needs within the following programs:

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)

  • Deliver specialized instruction tailored to student needs

  • Collaborate with related service providers, paraprofessionals, and general education staff

  • Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation

  • Support inclusion and access to grade-level curriculum where appropriate

  • Foster a safe, structured, and supportive classroom environment

Minimum Requirements

  • Active Massachusetts DESE Special Education licensure (required)

  • Previous school-based or relevant special education experience preferred

  • Ability to work with diverse learners across a range of needs

Interview Process

  • Initial phone screening

  • Client interview required

  • In-person interviews will take place in July 2026

  • Specific dates to be confirmed

The Special Education Teacher, under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator provides quality services to special education students, kindergarten through grade 12. The Special Education Teacher has a commitment to team participation in planning and implementation of student programs including special instruction, tutorial assistance and consultation with general education staff.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university preferred

  • Valid state teaching certificate as required by state, contract/district regulations

  • Minimum of one year experience in teaching environment preferred

  • State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Elementary Teaching preferred

  • State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Secondary Teaching preferred

  • State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Special Teaching preferred

  • Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred

  • Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice

  • Current CPR if applicable

  • TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable

  • Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)

  • Must meet all federal, state and local requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
