Assignment Overview:
We are seeking Special Education Aides to support students with behavioral and instructional needs across various grade levels in Burlington, WI. Aides will work directly in classroom settings, assisting small groups of students who require additional behavioral support. School placement and grade level assignment will be determined during the interview process.
Under the supervision of special education staff and school administration, the School Aide will provide instructional support, behavior management assistance, and, when applicable, personal care and mobility support for students with special needs.
Location: Burlington, WI
Start Date: September 1, 2026
Contract Length: 38 Weeks
Openings: 7
Hours: Approximately 35 hours per week
Pay rate: $20/hr based on experience and credentials.
Schedule:

Elementary: 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM

Middle School/High School: 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM
Key Responsibilities
-
Support students with behavioral and educational goals in the classroom.

Assist teachers and special education staff with daily instructional activities.

Work with small groups of students requiring additional support.

Help maintain a positive and structured learning environment.

Provide personal care or mobility assistance when required and directed by appropriate professionals.
Minimum Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Ability to comply with all applicable professional standards and requirements.

Current CPR certification (if required).
-
TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray (if required).

Current health certificate (if required by contract or state regulations).

Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements.

The School Aide is an individual who works with students requiring instructional, and/or behavioral assistance under the supervision of the special education department, teacher and/or supervising designee. The School Aide may also provide support services to assist students with personal, physical mobility and therapeutic care needs, as established by a rehabilitation health practitioner, social worker or other health care professional.
