Sign-On Bonus Eligible Hours: Full-Time 40 hrs a week (5/8s)

Job Summary:

Part of a large and varied team consisting of physicians, nurses, allied health personnel, and members of the community. Provides direct patient care to a variety of diagnostic categories and supervising junior staff, rehabilitation technicians, volunteers and students. Serves as mentors to new staff members. Caseloads may consist of adult and pediatric inpatients and outpatients. Serves on departmental committees, serves as a speaker for educational programs/classes, and participates in process improvement and quality initiatives. Demonstrates advanced clinical expertise in a specialty area.

Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

Patient Treatment:

  • Implements treatment plan utilizing current theory and practice; works towards established goals; modifies goals and treatment plan as necessary and indicated.
  • Documents treatment plan according to department policy and bills for services. Coordinates appropriate follow up post discharge from care.

Patient Assessment:

  • Performs functions related to patient evaluation/re-evaluation, goal setting, and discharge planning according to department policy and procedures.
  • Documents findings according to department policy and bills for services. Ensures findings are shared with appropriate individuals and provides necessary follow up.

Education:

  • Provides a positive learning environment for observers, volunteers, students, and co-workers.
  • Willingly accepts learners and ensures learning objectives are achieved. Provides learning opportunities for department staff on topics related to clinical specialty.

Leadership:

  • Serves as a member/leader of a department, AUMC, campus or community program or project.
  • Mentors new staff and assists in leadership development of other team members.
  • Provides input and suggestions for quality improvement to department leaders.

Productivity:

  • Meets departmental productivity standards.
  • Takes initiative to insure that established productivity standard is met on an ongoing and regular basis.
  • Takes an active role in servicing patients with immediate needs.
  • Documents productivity in a timely manner.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Complies with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.

Required Minimum Education:

  • Bachelors Physical Therapy

Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s):

All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.

  • BLS-I - Basic Life Support - Instructor or BLS - Basic Life Support or ARC-BLS - Amer Red Cross Basic Life Support
  • PT - Physical Therapist

Additional License(s) and Certification(s):

Required Minimum Experience:

Minimum 5 years Physical therapy Required or Minimum 3 years physical therapy plus 2 years of experience in supervisory role. Preferred
