The Sterile Processing Tech (SPD) is responsible for decontamination, cleaning, processing, and sterilization of supplies, and equipment dispensed by the department following established Infection Control Practices.

Must be conscientious with regard to procedures, and capable of working under pressure and interacting professionally with other departments within the hospital.

Able to accept new ideas and learn position duties.

Participate in the department’s performance improvement activities.
Shifts: 8 hour shifts, variable start times
Qualifications

Minimum of one (1) year experience as Central Service Technician or Surgical Tech (preferred).

Thorough knowledge of medical terminology and nomenclature of items and equipment used by the department (required)

Knowledgeable with cleaning and sterilization procedures and techniques (required).

High School Diploma/GED Minimum
