Full job description
Amergis Staffing is currently seeking Health Office Aides for the 2026/27 school year in the Encinitas/San Diegueto CA area.
Position Details: SPED setting assisting with toileting, changing, lifting, and other duties as assigned by health office/nursing team
Hours/Week : 32.5 hours weekly
Start Date : August 10th, 2026
Length : 26/27 School Year
Details : Grade Level Elementary-High, in person,
Pay : Local Rate: $20/hour
Required : SPED experience OR CNA
Main Responsibilities
-
Assist teachers and school staff with classroom activities and daily routines
-
Provide one-on-one and small-group support to students
-
Support students with academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs
-
Help maintain a safe, structured, and positive learning environment
-
Assist students with mobility, personal care, and therapeutic needs when required
-
Monitor and encourage appropriate student behavior
-
Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and related service providers
-
Follow all school and district policies and procedures
Qualifications
Required
-
High School Diploma or GED
-
Must be at least 18 years of age
-
Ability to meet all federal, state, and local employment requirements
-
Compliance with professional standards of practice
Preferred
-
Previous experience working with children in schools, childcare, camps, tutoring, or related settings
-
Current CPR certification (if required)
-
TB screening, PPD, or chest X-ray clearance (if applicable)
-
Current health certificate as required by state or district regulations

The School Aide is an individual who works with students requiring instructional, and/or behavioral assistance under the supervision of the special education department, teacher and/or supervising designee. The School Aide may also provide support services to assist students with personal, physical mobility and therapeutic care needs, as established by a rehabilitation health practitioner, social worker or other health care professional.
Minimum Requirements:

High School diploma or equivalent required

Comply with all relevant professional standards of practice

Current CPR if applicable

TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable

Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)

Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
