Behavioral Technician – 1:1 School-Based Support

Location : Riverside County, CA Schedule : Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM Compensation : $18–$25 per hour (based on experience) Start Date : Upcoming school year

Position Overview

The Behavioral Technician provides direct 1:1 behavioral support to a student in a school setting for the upcoming academic year. This role focuses on implementing individualized behavior intervention plans, supporting academic engagement, and collaborating with school staff and clinical supervisors to promote student success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 behavioral support to a student throughout the school day.

  • Implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and skill-building programs created by a BCBA.

  • Collect accurate, real-time data on behavior and skill acquisition.

  • Support the student during academic tasks, transitions, social interactions, and daily routines.

  • Use evidence-based strategies to reduce challenging behaviors and increase adaptive skills.

  • Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and clinical supervisors to ensure consistent support.

  • Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and adherence to ethical guidelines.

  • Participate in required meetings, trainings, and supervision sessions.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework in psychology, education, or related fields preferred.

  • Experience working with children or individuals with developmental or behavioral needs.

  • Ability to follow structured behavior plans and accept ongoing coaching.

  • Strong communication, patience, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to remain calm and supportive during challenging situations.

  • Must pass background check and meet school district clearance requirements.

  • Reliable transportation to the assigned school site in Riverside County.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and engage in physical prompting as needed.

  • Ability to respond quickly during behavioral incidents to ensure safety.
