Employment Type: Full time Shift: Day Shift

Description: Monday - Friday Day Shift Our Mammo Technical Assistant provides scheduling services and exam instructions for patients and physician offices. Maintains patient flow in productive, organized, and timely manner. Assures accurate clerical documentation of patient information and exam data. Provides safe and comfortable transportation for patients of all ages. Provides effective internal and external patient communication consistent with age and mental capacity.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  1. A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

  2. At hire, Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required.

  3. A minimum of one year of patient care experience, or accepted into a Radiology Program, or customer related field is required.

  4. One year of experience in medical imaging is preferred.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Organization's Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions.

  2. Demonstrates knowledge and skills to competently care for all assigned age groups (Neonate, Child, Adolescent, Adult, Geriatric as applicable).

  3. Revenue Management: ensure the accuracy of documenting services and supplies provided to the patients.

  4. Transports and prepares patients maintaining patient comfort, dignity, and changing medical needs.

  5. Keeps patient history current by accurate data entry of exams and other patient history as defined by protocol manual, and on-going software training.

  6. Schedules and coordinates all events surrounding the successful completion of a patient exam.

  7. Coordinates inpatient imaging services with the imaging modality.

  8. Prepares next day’s schedule to reassure patient is screened and prepped for next day exam.

  9. Maintains knowledge of equipment and supplies to reassure the CT technologists are able to perform their job efficiently and safely.

  10. Responds to patient care according to medical center's policies and procedures for patient care including, but not limited to, Code Blue Preparedness, Universal Precautions, Radiation Safety Support and CPR.

  11. Monitors multi-modality worklist and coordinates on call teams for after hour exams.

  12. Covers other positions within medical imaging areas as appropriate; to include modality assistance, file room responsibilities, and Radiologist liaison.

  13. Demonstrates ability to efficiently organize work and maintain a high level of accuracy and productivity.

  14. Demonstrated leadership skills, independent problem solving, and decision-making abilities and can use critical thinking skills.

  15. Demonstrates excellent professional interaction skills with patients and staff.
