Full job description
Employment Type: Part time Shift: Day Shift
Description: Location: New Hampton Med Center Shift: 8 hour Day Shift PRN: Hours Vary based on needs of the department This individual assists the physical therapists in the preparation of patients for treatment, provides certain physical therapy procedures to the patient, maintains physical therapy equipment in a clean and aesthetic manner and is responsible for written/verbal communications between the Rehab department and our customers. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Assists physical therapists in performing tests, evaluations, treatment procedures, and job simulation training.
- Exercises responsibility for patient’s personal care and environment throughout treatment.
- Provides patient treatment as outlined by physical therapist’s plan of care.
- Records and reports patient’s progress towards established goals, and data related to care in the patient’s medical record/chart.
- Instructs patients in exercises, ambulation, and activities of daily living, safe body mechanics, home exercise programs, and return to work precautions according to plan of care.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
- Completion of a two-year college program (approved by American Physical Therapy Association) leading to Associate Degree in Physical Therapy
- Licensed by State of Iowa in compliance with the Physical Therapy Association Rules and Regulations
- Experience: One year experience in outpatient setting preferred.
- Ability to communicate with patients and instruct them in exercise programs.
