Description
Summary:
The Senior Accountant plays a key role in delivering accurate, timely, and meaningful financial information that supports business decisions. This role owns core accounting processes, partners across the organization, and brings forward insights that help drive performance and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions:

Prepare and review complex journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reports

Own and lead key areas of the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close

Analyze financial results, identify trends, and provide recommendations to leadership

Ensure financial reporting is accurate and compliant with accounting standards

Research and resolve complex accounting issues and discrepancies

Develop, improve, and document accounting processes and internal controls
-
Partner with cross-functional teams to support financial analysis and business initiatives
-
Assist external auditors to perform financial audits to ensure accuracy
-
Supports state and local tax compliance, including research, preparation of select filings and coordination with external tax providers

Provide guidance, training, or review of work for team members

Drive continuous improvement efforts across accounting processes
Requirements
Critical Success Factors:
Ability to use critical thinking to evaluate complex issues and recommend solutions
Detail oriented with strong analytical, problem solving and decision making ability
Time management and deadline oriented
Ability to prioritize and juggle multiple priorities
Ability to successfully work independently and in a team environment across the company
Knowledge of GAAP Rules
Self-motivated with a strong desire to take initiative
Willingness to adapt to and accept change at both a company and day-to-day responsibility level
Job Requirements/Specifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or a bachelor's degree in Business with emphasis in Accounting
3-7 years' experience in financial accounting
Proficient in Excel and other accounting software
Excellent written and communication skills
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
Consistently Sitting, Working with hands, Working with fingers, working indoors.
Frequently Twisting upper body, Talking, Hearing.
Some Standing, Walking, Reaching, Working alone, Working with others, Customer contact, extended days.
