Job Description
SYSTRA Consulting, Inc. seeks a Rolling Stock System Integrator for Automatic Train Control System in Bloomfield, NJ, to act as San Francisco Bay Area Transit (BART) Subject Matter Expert (SME) to lead the system integration efforts by replacing the existing Alstom VATC (Vehicle Automatic Train Control) by a new CBTC product. • This requires verifying and validating the electrical Rolling Stock architecture, the interface with the CBTC product and all required adaptations of existing or spare train lines. • Support the CBTC Supplier defining the required adaptation on the current vehicle’s subsystems for a safe and functional operation of the CBTC system following the system engineering life cycle. • Chair of the Rolling Stock Working Group (WG) meetings. Provides direction and priorities to the working group team members. Produce status reports for the management regarding Rolling Stock working group activities. • Responsible for the management of the contract deliverables, requests for information (RFI) and technical white papers for the Rolling Stock interface. • Coordination of the multi-disciplinary rolling stock stakeholder’s activities and gain concurrence on the interface requirements. • Coordinate and support installation of the new CBTC system in the Rolling Stock. Performs low-level interface (PICOs) and the functional testing. • Review of CBTC and Rolling Stock suppliers project schedules. • Manage Rolling Stock relative risks, alert management of potential impacts on the overall project. Provide recommendations to the management for their resolution. • Supports Commercial Management and Project Management Teams by performing independent cost estimates for Change Orders. • Ensure quality processes and approval rules are shared and followed by all team members. Will travel to various, unanticipated locations throughout the US 100% of the time. Telecommuting permitted.
Requires a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Transportation Engineering or related field, plus 10 years of experience.

10 years of experience with knowledge of the CBTC standards (IEEE 1474-x, IEC 62290-x).

10 years of experience with CBTC On-board equipment installation, testing (PICO…), commissioning and troubleshooting.

10 years of experience with Rolling Stock interfaces (traction, network, cabin…).

10 years of relevant experience in CBTC Product Design and Project Deployment in Greenfiled or Brownfield environment, Rolling Stock Retrofit Program, advance technologies and prior experience in novel or unusual circumstances.

10 years of relevant experience in Rolling-Stock Retrofit Program.

10 years of experience in internal and multicultural projects.
Will travel to various, unanticipated locations throughout the US 100% of time. Telecommuting is permitted.
