Job Duties

Opal Foods is currently accepting applications for the position of Maintenance Technician for our Litchfield, MN egg processing plant. This position is responsible for performing preventive maintenance and repairs on industrial machinery while maintaining compliance with all company policies and governmental regulations. This position will also assist the Maintenance Lead with other projects and duties as needed. This position will require working some evenings and weekends.

Position Responsibilities:

Meet or exceed plant business plan and KPI’s

Keep equipment running and operational during processing hours

Perform preventive and urgent maintenance of general production machinery and equipment

Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments

Take a proactive approach to issue resolution including root cause analyses and error proofing controls related to down time

Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment to perform duties

Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision

Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas

Have basic SQF knowledge and understanding

Adhere to all company Good Manufacturing Procedures

Physical Requirements of a Maintenance Technician:

Fast paced work environment.

Lift fifty or more pounds on a regular basis.

Bend, lift, pull, push, stoop, bend and climb.

Requirements: (knowledge, experience, skills, education)

Mechanical and electrical aptitude and troubleshooting skills

Organized and detail oriented

Willing to work off schedule shifts and/or days when necessary

Prior experience troubleshooting equipment, performing preventive maintenance and repairing industrial processing equipment

Prefer some welding experience but not necessary
