Position Summary

This is an entry-level role on the Accounting team for someone who is eager to learn and ready to be developed. You'll support semi-monthly payroll processing, month-end close activities, compensation expense analyses, and help design and automate accounting workflows using AI tools and technology. With a clear mentor and a structured ramp, you'll build the foundation for a long-term career in accounting. The role is hybrid with a minimum of three days in office at the LaGrange campus.

What You'll Do

You'll start with guidance and grow toward independence. Over time, you will:

Support the financial close: Learn and assist with month-end close, including preparing journal entries, accrual adjustments, and account reconciliations under the guidance of senior team members.

Assist in payroll processing: gather information and input certain data needed for semi-monthly or bi-weekly payroll processing.

Analyze payroll expense: Track, categorize, and report on payroll-related costs; help identify trends, variances, and opportunities to improve accuracy and forecasting.

Work with AI and technology: Help build and improve accounting workflows and system integrations-using AI tools and automation to reduce manual effort, increase accuracy, and speed up reporting.

Assist with reporting and analysis: Pull data, build simple reports, and respond to ad hoc questions from across the business as you learn how the numbers connect to the work.

Investigate and reconcile: Track, research, and help resolve exception-based transactions while developing your problem-solving instincts.

Learn, document, and improve: Document the processes you learn, ask good questions, and bring fresh ideas for how we can do things better.

Collaborate: Build relationships across the Finance team and partner with other departments to get work done.

What You Bring (Role Requirements)

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business, Data Analytics, or a related field.

Internships, part-time work, coursework, or relevant projects are a plus but not required.

Eagerness to learn, a growth mindset, and the coachability to take feedback and run with it.

Curiosity about technology and AI, and excitement about using new tools to make work smarter and faster.

Comfort with Microsoft Excel, or a clear willingness to develop strong Excel skills quickly.

Strong attention to detail and a natural bias toward accuracy.

Solid problem-solving and analytical instincts-you enjoy figuring out how things work.

Good written and verbal communication skills, and a professional, collaborative approach.

The ability to stay organized, prioritize, and manage your time in a fast-paced environment.
