Summary About the Position: This position is with the Army Sustainment Command at Tooele Army Depot. The Secretary (OA) supports the director by managing calendars, coordinating communications, and overseeing daily office operations. The incumbent reviews and prepares administrative correspondence and maintains essential records, including timekeeping, attendance, and personnel tracking. Responsibilities Screen phone calls, visitors, and incoming correspondence; handle routine inquiries and route actions appropriately. Manage the director’s calendar, schedule appointments, and brief the director on meeting topics. Review, prepare, and track correspondence to ensure accuracy, proper format, and timely completion of suspense items. Coordinate and disseminate information across the directorate; provide procedural guidance to staff. Maintain office records and files; manage records in accordance with Modern Army Record-keeping System. Arrange and process CONUS/OCONUS travel, including approvals, itineraries, reservations, briefings, and travel vouchers. Provide administrative support for visitors and coordinate meetings, tours, and briefing materials. Input and validate time and attendance in ATAAPS and ensure accurate daily personnel accountability reporting in Command Personnel Accountability and Visibility Reporting System. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes utilizing office automation software (such as word processors and email) to type, format, and finalize various documents, including letters, reports, and messages; providing general office and administrative support, such as receiving visitors, answering phone calls, and directing inquiries to the appropriate staff; performing clerical tasks including daily time keeping, maintaining calendars, scheduling meetings, and organizing or maintaining office files. This level of experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level in the federal service (GS-05). Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05). Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. This position requires a 1 year probationary period during which the agency evaluates your fitness and whether your continued employment advances the public interest. In making this determination, the agency may consider your performance and conduct; agency needs and interests; whether your continued employment supports organizational or Government goals; and whether it promotes the efficiency of the Federal service. Continued employment requires written certification that it advances the public interest. Direct deposit of pay is required.
