Job Description

The Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for coordinating maintenance activities to support manufacturing operations, maximize equipment uptime, and ensure preventive maintenance programs are executed effectively. This role partners with production, engineering, quality, and maintenance teams to improve equipment reliability, support continuous improvement initiatives, and maintain a safe and efficient work environment.

Key Responsibilities

Coordinate day-to-day maintenance activities to support production schedules and operational goals.

Assist in planning and scheduling preventive maintenance, repairs, and equipment improvement projects.

Monitor equipment performance and communicate maintenance priorities to technicians and leadership.

Maintain spare parts inventory and ensure critical components are available to minimize downtime.

Support troubleshooting efforts and coordinate resources during equipment breakdowns and emergencies.

Work closely with production teams to schedule maintenance activities with minimal impact to operations.

Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, validations, and startup activities.

Partner with engineering teams to support process improvements and equipment optimization initiatives.

Participate in root cause investigations and help implement corrective actions for recurring equipment issues.

Support quality and production teams in resolving operational concerns and implementing long-term solutions.

Track maintenance performance metrics and prepare reports related to equipment reliability, downtime, and departmental KPIs.

Coordinate contractor activities and ensure work is completed according to safety and operational requirements.

Help develop and maintain maintenance procedures, work instructions, and equipment documentation.

Support training, onboarding, and skill development efforts for maintenance personnel.

Monitor maintenance schedules to ensure work orders and preventive maintenance activities are completed on time.

Promote workplace organization, safety initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts throughout the facility.

Assist in identifying opportunities to reduce costs, improve efficiency, and increase equipment reliability.

Coordinate maintenance-related purchasing activities, including parts, materials, and service requests.

Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure documentation remains current.

Perform additional duties as assigned.

Skills and Requirements

Associate's degree in Industrial Maintenance, Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Technology, or a related technical field; or equivalent combination of education and maintenance experience.

Experience supporting maintenance operations in a manufacturing, industrial, or production environment.

Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Experience using ERP systems, CMMS platforms, or maintenance tracking software.

Ability to troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate effective solutions.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to analyze information, solve problems, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment. Experience supporting automated manufacturing equipment, robotic systems, welding equipment, or production machinery.

Knowledge of preventive maintenance and equipment reliability programs.

Experience working in Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement environments.

Familiarity with quality systems, production processes, and manufacturing KPIs.

Previous experience coordinating maintenance projects, shutdowns, or equipment upgrades.
