Pump Shop Helper

Job Summary

The Pump Shop Helper supports the Pump Shop Department by assisting pump mechanics with the repair, assembly, and maintenance of industrial pumps. This position is ideal for an individual who is mechanically inclined, eager to learn, and enjoys working in a hands-on shop environment. The Pump Shop Helper plays an important role in maintaining an organized, safe, and efficient workplace while developing the skills necessary for future advancement within the company.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Clean pump components using approved solvents, wire brushes, grinding wheels, and other cleaning equipment.

  • Assist Pump Mechanics with disassembly, inspection, assembly, and testing of pumps and related equipment.

  • Gather, organize, and supply tools, parts, and materials needed by Pump Mechanics during repair and assembly processes.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

  • Assist with loading, unloading, and moving equipment throughout the shop as needed.

  • Follow all company safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

  • Perform other shop-related duties as assigned to support daily operations.

Qualifications

  • Mechanically inclined with a willingness to learn industrial pump repair.

  • Positive attitude with a strong work ethic.

  • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.

  • Capable of lifting heavy components and performing physically demanding work.

  • Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment.

  • Valid driver's license required.

  • TWIC Card is a plus but not required.
