Job Description:

Reads and understands blueprints, drawings, and sketches.

Selects proper size and type of building materials according to the project specifications and dimensions.

Plans the installation to avoid obstructions.
-
Prepares the layout using rule, framing square, and chalk line.
-
Marks cutting and assembly lines on materials, using pencil, chalk, and marking gauge.
-
Shapes materials to prescribed measurements, using skill saws, table saws, band saws, etc.
-
Assembles cut and shaped materials by fastening them together with nails or screws.
-
Verifies the trueness of a structure using a plumb bob and carpenters level.
-
Erects shoring and installs plywood decking.
-
Constructs forms and chutes for pouring concrete.
-
Unloads materials, tools, equipment, and supplies.
-
Assists in lifting, positioning, and securing of materials and work pieces during installation.

Cleans tools and equipment.
-
Maintains a clean and safe work environment.

Must be able to safely traverse uneven terrain with tools and building materials.

Must be able to climb vertical ladders and work above/below ground as necessary. Must have experience working at heights and a functional knowledge of proper use of fall protection equipment.

Performs a variety of tasks involving safe dexterous use of hand tools.

Safely operates power tools and equipment.

Must be able to climb rebar walls and cages and work at heights.

Typically requires 48 months of industrial construction experience.
