Permanent Exceptional Children (EC) Substitute Teacher
Position Title: Permanent Exceptional Children (EC) Substitute Teacher
Location: Onsite

About the Opportunity
We are seeking a compassionate and dependable Permanent Exceptional Children (EC) Substitute Teacher to provide consistent instructional and classroom support for students receiving special education services. This role is ideal for an educator who enjoys working with diverse learners and can maintain continuity of services when supporting EC classrooms throughout the school year.
The successful candidate will work closely with EC teachers, related service providers, and school administrators to ensure students continue receiving high-quality instruction and support in a structured, positive learning environment.
Responsibilities

Provide classroom instruction and support to students receiving special education services.

Implement lesson plans, accommodations, modifications, and behavior support strategies as directed.

Support students academically, socially, and behaviorally in accordance with IEP goals.

Maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment.

Collaborate with EC teachers, instructional assistants, therapists, and school staff.

Assist with classroom management and student engagement.

Monitor student progress and communicate observations to the assigned teacher and school staff.

Support small-group and one-on-one instruction as needed.

Maintain confidentiality and comply with all school, district, and special education policies.
Required Qualifications
-
High school diploma or equivalent.

Previous experience working with students with disabilities in a school, childcare, behavioral, therapeutic, or educational setting.

Ability to effectively support students with diverse learning, behavioral, and developmental needs.

Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
-
Ability to follow instructional plans and work collaboratively with school personnel.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Previous teaching license or educator certification.

Prior experience working in an Exceptional Children (EC) classroom.

Experience supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Intellectual Disabilities, Emotional Disabilities, or other specialized learning needs.

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Education, Special Education, Psychology, Human Services, or a related field.

Experience with behavior intervention strategies and classroom management techniques.
