Full job description

Mission Neko is redefining what prevention means, from treating illness when it arrives, to sustaining health before it's ever at risk. Our mission: make data-driven, preventative care accessible to more people, before symptoms appear.

In a single, non-invasive visit under an hour, proprietary technology and direct clinical care combine to deliver personalised, actionable insights. It's a team that thinks in 10x, not 10%. Every role here plays a part in building a world where prevention is the norm, and where your work genuinely helps people live longer, healthier lives.

Role Purpose The Skin Specialist (NY) will serve as the local clinical liaison between scanning clinicians and our International Expert Center (IEC) Dermatologists, signing off on specialist recommendations and operationalizing the necessary referrals, serving as a clinical escalation point for scanning clinicians who need guidance or Quality Improvement round our dermatology service line, and building scalable skin health care pathways as the business grows. This is a hybrid role split evenly between service line leadership and active scanning clinician work: built for a primary care clinician who wants to deepen dermatology expertise and expand their scope without stepping away from patient care. What You'll Deliver in the First 6–12 Months

  • Skin lesions, tagged for review by the scanning clinicians, and then reviewed by our dermatology specialists, are signed off on in a timely manner and referral care pathways for dermatologic findings are documented, implemented, and adopted across active US clinics, ensuring members get the care they need with the right level of specialist review and scanning clinicians have a clear path to specialist input. (Tech-Enabled, Human-Centered)

  • You've become a trusted bridge between scanning clinicians and dermatology specialists, providing reliable guidance on referrals and specialist recommendations. (Member-first, Always)

  • You maintain a 50% scanning clinician caseload alongside service line leadership duties, holding the same standard of patient care you held before taking on this role. (Impact, Not Activity)

  • Friction points in the dermatology service line are surfaced early and addressed directly with dermatologists and operational teams, not left to compound. (Optimistic Truth-seeking)

Minimum Requirements

  • Clinical licensure in the state of NY: MD, DO, NP or PA required

  • For physicians, board-certified or board-eligible in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or a related primary care specialty. For NPs and PA, certification via an accredited professional board.

  • While this role is not responsible for first-line dermoscopy or lesion read (this is done by our consulting dermatologists), experience evaluating common skin findings and lesions, and an understanding of skin cancer screening and dermatologic workflows, is required.

  • Comfortable collaborating with specialist physicians and operationalizing referral pathways based on specialist recommendations.

  • Clinical experience in primary care, a dermatology practice, preventive health, outpatient medicine, or a similar setting.

  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage escalations, referrals, and operational follow-through.

  • Genuine interest in dermatology and clinical leadership, with the flexibility to balance clinical and administrative responsibilities.

Preferred

  • Prior experience as a lead clinician, medical director, or clinical champion.

  • Experience supporting referral pathways or care coordination.

  • Process-improvement or operational leadership experience.

  • Experience with skin cancer screening, dermatologic triage, or preventive skin health programs.
