What You'll Do

Apply engineering fundamentals and a broad set of mechanical engineering tools to solve technical problems and create detailed designs for static equipment and process systems.

Responsible for reviewing work up to LOD 300, performing design checks, and supporting quality assurance throughout the engineering process.

Work with industrial, construction, and facilities stakeholders to understand end-user requirements and deliver solutions that meet project objectives.

Prioritize and manage multiple projects while maintaining high-quality deliverables in a fast-paced environment.

Work independently and apply first-principles thinking to resolve complex design issues while coordinating with other engineering disciplines.

Create flexible designs that can adapt to changing project requirements and effectively defend technical decisions to leadership.

Validate mechanical integrity, installation readiness, fabrication quality, and commissioning requirements for static equipment and fixed assets.

Lead interdisciplinary pre-startup safety reviews, pressure testing activities, punch list resolution, and project handovers.

Support mechanical completion walks, startup and commissioning activities, troubleshooting, reliability improvements, and preventative maintenance planning for process equipment.

Skills and Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent industry experience.

5+ years of experience supporting industrial facilities, process systems, or static equipment.

Experience with at least 80% of the following equipment:

Pressure Vessels

Heat Exchangers (Shell & Tube, Plate & Frame)

Storage Tanks

Towers and Columns

Reactors

Boilers

Fired Heaters

Cooling Towers

Air Scrubbers

Dust Collection Systems

Hazardous Exhaust Systems

Utility Systems

Wastewater Treatment Systems

Process Piping Systems

Heat Recovery Systems

Pressure Relief Devices

Strong understanding of static equipment design, fabrication, installation, inspection, testing, and commissioning.

Experience reviewing vendor drawings, fabrication packages, inspection reports, pressure testing documentation, and mechanical integrity records.

Familiarity with industry standards such as:

ASME Section VIII

ASME B31.3

API 510

API 570

API 620

API 650

Demonstrated ability to solve complex engineering problems through practical field experience and sound engineering principles.

Experience supporting industrial construction, manufacturing, refinery, petrochemical, LNG, semiconductor, or advanced manufacturing projects.

Proficiency with engineering software such as:

AutoCAD

Revit

Bluebeam

Navisworks

SolidWorks

Compress

Inventor

IConstruct Construction administration experience, including field walks, RFI reviews, submittal reviews, and shop drawing reviews.

Professional Engineer (PE) License.

Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certification.

Experience supporting owner-side projects or EPC projects.

Experience leading pressure testing, hydrotesting, mechanical completion, or turnover activities.

Experience supporting commissioning and startup of industrial process facilities.

Ability to synthesize technical information into presentations and communicate findings to leadership teams.

Previous design engineering experience for refinery, petrochemical, LNG, semiconductor, advanced manufacturing, or heavy industrial facilities.

Reliability, maintenance, or asset integrity experience supporting static equipment programs.
