Full job description

Job Duties

As an After-School Literacy Tutor, you will:

  • Build consistent, encouraging relationships with a small group of students.

  • Provide literacy tutoring to students in pairs using a structured instructional model.

  • Support approximately 10 students organized into five tutoring pairs.

  • Deliver consistent tutoring sessions throughout the week.

  • Use curriculum, instructional materials, and progress-monitoring tools provided through the program.

  • Help students strengthen foundational reading skills, including phonics, phonemic awareness, fluency, and comprehension.

  • Communicate regularly with program and site contacts.

  • Maintain reliable attendance and fulfill all agreed-upon tutoring sessions.

  • Complete required orientation, training, and child-safety requirements.

  • Create an environment where students feel respected, capable, and excited to return.

  • The program model calls for each tutor to support approximately 10 students in five pairs, with students receiving tutoring three times each week.

Minimum Education Required
