The Role

The General Foreman - Lifting & Handling is responsible for supervising, assigning, coordinating, and evaluating semi-skilled and skilled trades personnel in the Lifting & Handling Division. This role focuses on improving the quality and quantity of work performed in crane and rigging operations, while ensuring compliance with technical aspects of the job and company procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and assign tasks to semi-skilled and skilled trades personnel in the Lifting & Handling division, taking into account their skill, experience, and job knowledge

• Train and evaluate employees to enhance their skills and productivity in crane and rigging operations

• Recommend training programs to improve employee performance and assist in developing training procedures

• Develop practical action plans from broad strategies and ensure employees are trained to execute these plans

• Ensure compliance with all technical aspects of the job, including adherence to drawings, procedures, and company standards

• Oversee manufacturing, installation, operation, testing, and process operations that have a significant financial impact on the company's performance

• Supervise qualified trades staff, monitoring job and budget performance for all shifts

• Development and implementation of training programs to enhance employee skills and productivity

Requirements:

• Proven experience in supervising and managing semi-skilled and skilled trades personnel in a Lifting & Handling environment

• Strong knowledge of crane and rigging operations, as well as relevant technical aspects of the job

• Excellent leadership, communication, and training skills

• Ability to develop and implement practical action plans and training programs

• Strong understanding of company procedures and standards, with a focus on compliance and quality control.

Must Have

BS/Apprentice + 4 years production supervisor experience OR Non-BS/Non-Apprentice with 6 years combined production supervisory experience and/or CS experience.
