LabCorp is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician to join our team at Ascension Columbia St. Mary's Hospital - Ozaukee Campus in Mequon, WI.

Work Schedule: 2nd Shift 1:30pm - 12:000am, four days per week, rotating weekends and holidays.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Determinethe acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria

  • Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures

  • Monitor,operateandtroubleshootinstrumentation to ensure proper functionality

  • Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisionsregardingtesting and problem solving.

  • Prepare,testand evaluate new reagents or controls

  • Reportaccurateandtimelytest resultsin order todeliver quality patient care

  • Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures

  • Identifyand replenish testing bench supplies as necessary

  • Assistwith processing of specimens when needed

  • Maintain a safe work environment and wearappropriate personalprotective equipment

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in a Chemical or Biologicalscience, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1 yearor moreofexperience as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) generalist

  • 1 year or more of experience in blood bank

  • ASCP or AMT certification

Additional Job Standards:

  • In lieu of education requirements listed above, non-traditional degrees with applicable science credits that meet CLIA standards may meet educationrequirement

  • Familiarity with laboratory information systems

  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment

  • Proficient with computers

  • High levelof attention detail along withstrong communicationand organizational skills

  • Able to pass a standardized color blindness test

  • Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs
