THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a ELECTRONICS MECHANIC, Position Description Number D1205000 and is part of the PA Combined Support Maintenance Shop West, National Guard. 1 or more Position(s) may be hired against this Announcement. APPOINTMENT STATUS: EXCEPTED This is a Dual Status Excepted Service Technician position in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard. AREA OF CONSIDERATION: Non-Bargaining Position AOC 1: NG Employees at the Combined Support Maintenance Shop West (This includes Annex 11 and Anex 22) Military Grades: ENLISTED E1-E9 The supervisor for this position is SGM Nichols. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience or training which demonstrates knowledge of electrical or electronic theory, knowledge of common testing procedures, skill in the use of hand tools of the electronics trade, and skill in reading schematics. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Application must indicate experience or training in utilizing principles, basic functions and application of theory of electronic systems or equipment. Which also include experience in diagnosing problems and determining needed repairs for malfunctions in electronic equipment or systems. Experience in making mechanical repairs that required the use of precision measuring and calibrating equipment. Experience in using complex test equipment such as deviation meters, complex special test panels, etc. Experience which demonstrates the ability to interpret technical manuals, specifications, and publications. QUALITY OF EXPERIENCE: Length of time is not of itself qualifying. Candidates' experience should be evaluated on the basis of duties performed rather than strictly on the rank of the individual; however, established compatibility criteria/assignments must be followed. The applicant's record of experience, training, and education must show possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to fully perform the duties of the position to be filled. SPECIAL NOTE: Per the Merit Promotion and Placement Plan (MPP) if there are more than 15 qualified applicants for each position, by category, a KSA board will be convened in accordance with Chapter 4 of the MPP. As an Electronics Mechanic, WG-2604-11, you will perform functional tests, analyze performance and malfunctions, remove, install, test, maintain, modify, perform alignments and troubleshoot the electronic, electrical, mechanical and hydraulic assemblies modules, and interconnecting cables of a variety of combat and tactical equipment to include the M1 series main battle tank, M2/3 series Bradley fighting vehicle, Multiple Launch Rocket Systems (MLRS), TOW Missile System and the ATACMS Launch Loader Module (LLM). Troubleshoot and repair launch pod/container (LP/C), trainer rocket simulator modules, Missiles/Launchers Pod Assembly (M/LPA), trainer missile simulator modules, and various like items. Use various types of test equipment to include systems test sets and stand such as AN/GRM-122s, frequency meters, standing wave indicators, oscillators, ohmmeters, voltmeters, resistance bridges, and signal generators to localize trouble by component unit, by circuit within a component, and by element of a circuit. Use special and common hand tools, power tools, and gauges to make intricate repairs. Perform administrative functions in establishing and maintaining maintenance records on equipment maintained or repaired. Perform other duties as assigned. Security clearance required: Secret
