Full job description

  • Receive patient referral when they are called directly into the community and disseminate the information to appropriate individuals.
  • Track pre-admission referral activity as needed.
  • Coordinate the assignment of attending physician.
  • Confirm financial approval with the appropriate party/entity.
  • Obtain prior approval number from payer on a per case basis when authorized.
  • Notify departments of anticipated admissions.
  • Welcome patient on admission.
  • Assign medical record numbers.
  • Update computerized census system daily.
  • Coordinate room assignment designation with nursing department and case manager.
  • Promote and protect resident rights, assist residents to make informed decisions, treat residents with dignity and respect, protect resident’s personal belongings, report suspected abuse or neglect, avoid the need for physical restraints in accordance with the current professional standards and, support independent expression, choice and decision-making consistent with applicable law and regulation. Level of Formal Education: A High School Diploma or General Education Degree; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Language Skills: Acceptable fluency in English in order to perform job duties and speak, read, write, and communicate with supervisors, coworkers, residents, and applicable third parties.

Technical Competencies: Basic software and/or computer proficiency, comprehension of basic accounting and sales
