Job Description

Supervises and coordinates the staff and daily operations. Interprets, communicates, and implements policies and procedures; analyzes efficiency, quality of care, and compliance. Acts as liaison with related departments, keeps current with related legislative issues, and performs duties of a physician assistant, as needed.

Job Responsibility

  • Interprets, communicates and implements policies and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance among Advanced Clinical Providers

  • Coordinate neurosurgery service coverage by implementing daily and weekly schedules, on-call schedules, time-off requests

  • Respond to escalations from direct reports

  • Assists Director of Operations in overseeing the quality assurance initiatives for the department.

  • Acts as liaison with associated departments to maintain and improve volume, quality, and revenue generation.

  • Acts as liaison with Advanced Clinical Provider to provide teaching resources.

  • Assists in developing and implementing curriculum for Advanced Clinical Provider training in compliance with professional, regulatory, and legislative requirements.

  • Stays up to date on current legislation.

  • Performs the duties of a Advanced Clinical Provider in neurosurgery, including daily rounding, OR first-assist, participate in rotating on-call schedule, performing consults, history and physical examinations

  • Payroll completion for direct reports

  • Recruitment and hiring of new candidates and coordinate their onboarding

  • Complete yearly performance reviews for direct reports

Job Qualification

  • Bachelor or Master's degree as a Physician Assistant

  • Current License to practice as a Physician Assistant in New York State

  • Current license to practice as a Physician Assistant (PA) by the New York State Department of Education, required. Current NCCPA Certification from the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), required.

  • and 4-6 years of technical experience and 0-2 years of leadership / management experience, required.

The salary range for this position is $140100.00-$245200.00/year
