Summary This position is located at Bureau of the Fiscal Service, End User Operations Branch. As a lead IT Specialist (CUSTSPT), you will provide end-user operational support and ensure IT System compliance. The mission of the User Services Division is to evaluate, integrate and support innovative technologies and workplace services to help Fiscal Service program areas achieve their goals. Responsibilities IMPORTANT PLEASE READ This announcement contains a two-phase process. Upon completion of Phase 1, you must click on the exclusive link to complete the manual assessment. As a Lead IT Specialist (CUSTSPT), you will: Support and maintain end user equipment which includes personal computer (PC) equipment, printers, storage devices, monitors, docking stations, and specialized equipment used by various offices throughout Fiscal Service. Provide support for the mobile devices in the bureau such as laptop hardware, software, connectivity, encryption and cellular and smart phone services. Troubleshoot end user computing issues in conjunction with the team and other support personnel Receive, evaluate, and respond to customer reports of systems and or equipment failures. Prioritize, schedule, and track requests and problems identified to ensure timely and complete responses to users Requirements Conditions of Employment All newly appointed employees to the competitive (or excepted) service are subject to a probationary (or trial) period. During this time, your performance, conduct, and suitability for continued employment will be evaluated. You will not automatically convert to permanent status at the end of the probationary (or trial) period. Your supervisor must affirmatively determine that continued employment is in the best interest of the Federal service. If no certification is made before the probationary (or trial) period ends, your appointment will be terminated. Must successfully complete a background investigation. Periodic reinvestigation is required no later than five years after selection and at least every succeeding five years. Specialized Experience for the GS-13, you must have one year (full 52 weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as: - Experience leading or coordinating the work of IT staff assigning tasks, setting priorities, monitoring progress, and providing technical guidance AND - Experience resolving end-user IT incidents and service requests involving hardware, software, operating systems, network connectivity, or account access AND - Experience supporting enterprise end-user operations by installing, configuring, maintaining, or troubleshooting end-user devices, applications, and related IT equipment AND - Experience coordinating technical support activities to maintain secure, compliant, and reliable end-user IT services In addition to meeting specialized experience, at the GS-13 level, individuals must have experience demonstrating each of the following competencies: Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Decision Making, Information Management, Interpersonal Skills, Oral Communication, Problem Solving, Teamwork, and Technical Competence.
