Important skills include Power Tools Operation, Hand Tools Operation, Tape Measure Reading, Read And Interpret Blueprints, Read And Interpret Production Drawings, and Cut Fiberglass Parts. Preferred (not required): Fiberglass Manufacturing Experience.

About This Opportunity

Sea Fox Boat Company is an industry-leading boat manufacturer looking for a dependable and detail-oriented Lamination Cut & Grind Technician to join our production team.

This position plays an important role in the fiberglass manufacturing process by properly cutting, grinding, trimming, and preparing laminated fiberglass components for the next stages of boat production. The ideal candidate understands fiberglass manufacturing processes, takes pride in quality workmanship, and can consistently meet production standards while maintaining a safe and organized work area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cut, trim, grind, and finish fiberglass laminate components according to production specifications.

  • Remove excess fiberglass material and prepare components for subsequent production processes.

  • Use hand tools, pneumatic tools, grinders, sanders, saws, and other production equipment safely and effectively.

  • Inspect fiberglass components for proper dimensions, surface condition, and overall quality.

  • Identify and correct rough edges, excess material, imperfections, and other issues that could affect fit, finish, or assembly.

  • Follow established work instructions, drawings, templates, and production specifications.

  • Ensure completed work meets Sea Fox quality standards before components move to the next production stage.

  • Maintain consistent production pace while maintaining quality and accuracy.

  • Work closely with Laminators, Cappers, Patcher/Refinishers, Rigging, and other production teams as needed.

  • Properly handle fiberglass materials and production components to prevent damage.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including proper use of required PPE.

  • Properly use and maintain tools and equipment.

  • Communicate quality concerns, material issues, or production problems to the appropriate supervisor.

  • Perform additional production duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous experience in marine manufacturing is required.

  • Previous hands-on fiberglass, lamination, cut-and-grind, or composite manufacturing experience.

  • Ability to safely operate grinders, sanders, saws, pneumatic tools, and other hand tools.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

  • Ability to read and follow work instructions and production specifications.

  • Ability to recognize defects and determine when additional trimming, grinding, or finishing is required.

  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

  • Ability to stand, bend, reach, kneel, and work in various positions throughout the workday.

  • Ability to lift and move production materials and components as required.

  • Dependable attendance and punctuality.

  • Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a production team.

  • Commitment to workplace safety and proper PPE use.
